CONTROL SYSTEMS ENGINEER
My client is a growing company providing equipment and services to the space and defence, semiconductor, food and automotive industries.
The successful candidate will have a good breadth of knowledge in control systems and the ability to react to dynamic production environments. Good communication skills both in the factory and at customers site are essential. The candidate must be self-motivated to work well in a team and alone. The role will involve frequent travel within the UK and occasional travel worldwide.
Qualified electrician with 18th edition, or electrical and electronics engineer to minimum of ONC
Proven track record in designing, programming, testing and commissioning control systems
Working knowledge of Omron Sysmac Studio or Siemens TIA portal for programming PLC's, HMI's and SCADA systems
Understanding of communication networks including Ethernet, EthernetIP, EtherCAT, DeviceNet and ProfiNet
UK driving licence
Experience of EN 13849 Functional safety of machinery
Experience in robot and motion systems
Experience in AutoCad or Solidworks
Experience in machine vision
You will join our team of electrical, mechanical and software designers working on a variety of projects in the semiconductor, defence, food and automotive industries. Projects include small bespoke control panels, machine safety upgrades and robot pick and place cells. You would be responsible for taking the project from an engineering visit through electrical design, software design, safety verification, installation and safety validation.
£45 - 50k
