Technical knowledge & experience of ac motors, servo motors and Drives, encoders, resolvers, inverters and PLC/Motion control, operator panels, Safety solutions and other associated Systems and Components.

Ability to use software diagnostic tools and understanding of motion control systems

Working Knowledge of Field bus networks and Ethernet solutions advantageous

Self motivated with initiative, tenacity & determination to resolve technical problems

Field service and system commissioning experience

Knowledge of and experience of Safe working practices on all ranges of automated machines and systems, including hoist and lifting / crane type applications

Ability to work alone and under pressure while managing customer presence/expectation

Constructive customer facing communication.

Understanding of best practices and the commercial pressure's customers are under

Training & presentation experience advantageous

Collaborative attitude to colleagues


Electrical / Electronic Diploma level education preferred or recognised apprenticeship.

To provide technical support including field diagnostic services & system commissioning of our drive solutions to optimise system performance, obtain customer acceptance and fulfil customer training requirements, to both external and internal customers. Internal customers will typically include the field sales teams, sales offices' and internal technical departments.

Including but not limited to, whole range of our products including from simple inverters and associated simple geared motor units up to complete Multiaxis servo systems, including associated, and in some cases 3rd party, products such as Operator panels, Safety devices, and programmable Motion solutions etc. Other product area's include Contactless Power, energy storage and regeneration, and Emobility/AGV's.

Predominantly a field service role (based dependant on location), with a requirement to provide 24Hour support, both by telephone and potentially callout. 24/7 Telephone support out of hours is required on a rota basis; 24Hour callout support is currently adhoc but may be instigated on a standby /rota basis in the future. The Role requires flexibility in working hours to complete tasks and a requirement to do overtime and work antisocial hours when required. Willingness to travel on a regular basis, including oversea's when necessary, is a requirement of the role. Various cross functional activities are necessary from time to time at the managements' discretion; therefore this description is not exhaustive.
