GROUP HSE MANAGER
Major Global Mechanical product manufacturer. Multiple sites in the UK. £1b+ Turnover, 11,000+ headcount. Significant footprint in a number of industrial and process markets globally.
o NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent with Chartered Status preferred.
o IEMA Certificate (or equivalent) in Environmental Assessment and Management.
o Membership of a relevant professional body, e.g. IOSH; IEMA; IISRM etc.
o Evidence of CPD in both Safety and Environmental disciplines.
o Minimum 3 (preferable 5) years' experience in safety management within an engineering environment.
o Experience in multi-site health safety and environmental management, desirable.
o Provide competent advice and guidance for new equipment, facilities, materials, substances and/or processes, at all stages from conception to adoption, ensuring conformity to statutory requirements.
o Develop HSE strategies, objectives and targets over defined periods to create a Continual Improvement in HSE performance measured against appropriate Key Performance indicators.
o Maintain an effective Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental (OHS&E) Management System entailing the identification of relevant compliance obligations, implementation of policies and procedures to ensure common practices across the business.
o Manage all aspects of Employee Liability (EL) claims, liaising with insurance companies and brokers, ensuring the best possible outcome for the business.
o Manage relevant aspects of product conformity associated with REACH, RoHS, and Asbestos compliance obligations including ensuring relevant documentation is maintained and Policy statements are available to and/or issued to third-parties as necessary.
o Ensure all accident / incident investigations are thoroughly conducted to an appropriate level of detail and in a timely manner, and entailing tracking agreed recovery/improvement actions through to completion;
o Maintain company database of HSE performance across all facets to support internal and external reporting requirements.
