BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - WAREHOUSE AUTOMATION

Market leader in Warehouse Automation with a global focus.

This role is focused on growing the retail, grocery and e-commerce division. An active network across Grocery is essential (including the big 5 e.g Tesco, Asda, Waitrose etc)
Open on background but warehouse automation, 3PL or Freight forwarding would be an advantage

Responsibility:

Implement and execute the BDM role in accordance with company Strategy and identified value pockets in the Retail, Grocery and E-Commerce markets.
Develop business plans focused on focus market sectors within region (including customer mapping)
Stay on top of the AS/RS trends, by proactively search for relevant knowledge and information, eg. market analyses, industry trends, competition, customer's segments etc
Develop excellent customer relation, and orchestrate the technical engagement at senior level, utilising knowledge of product portfolio and of customer's applications and requirements
Do speeches on seminars, fairs, congresses etc
Identify new opportunities, and develop into project leads by arranging customer visits, company on-site visits, cold calls, participate at exhibitions, support distributors, participate in industry forum etc.
Participate on business reviews (on request)
Maintain the integrity of Customer Master Data
Develop presentation material and case studies for the segment/region, in cooperation with Marketing
Identify and develop marketing opportunities in the region
Use and update the CRM tool according to procedures
Deliver and report results against key performance metrics
Actively build market awareness and promote the company Value proposition
Capture customer insights and market trends as input to the broader organisation
Identify new brand awareness and marketing opportunities, not currently being utilised by the business
Identify concrete project leads to the sales team
Represent and promote company as an ambassador and local Go-To person.


Developing key stakeholder relationships to enable company to be positioned as the technology of choice
Proactively following up with high-potential end-customers with on-site visits, quarterly calls, site visits etc.
Demonstrating company value proposition and relevant use-cases to end-customer, across all business functions
Liaise with the broader company organisation to provide input for continuous development, e.g. R&D, sales and marketing functions

Develop a deep understanding of the key influences operating within the United Kingdom, combined with a measurable action plan surrounding development
Organizing and holding educational events to build awareness of the company solution and position company in attractive segments

Focus

By engaging closely with end-customers and consultants, the BDM will:
Actively build market awareness and promote the company Value proposition
Capture customer insights and market trends as input to the broader organisation
Identify concrete project leads to the sales team

45-65k (pending experience) plus usual's

Home Based - UK Focus with some European travel as needed (events etc)
