PLC AUTOMATION ENGINEER - CAPITAL EQUIPMENT/MATERIALS HANDLING
Our client are Energy Consultants, Engineers and IT specialists providing energy and carbon reduction solutions on a global scale.
HNC/HND preferred but relevant experience would be considered. Sound knowledge of Process Control techniques, ideally but not essentially within FMCG or food manufacturing environment. Knowledge of control panels and MCC's including fault finding, repair and modification. A good working knowledge of various instrumentation including flow, level and pressure systems is preferable. PLC experience essential, especially Allen Bradley and Siemens S7. SCADA knowledge would be a bonus, particularly Wonderware. Maintenance or controls engineering background preferred. Experience of robotic control systems particularly Elau and Rexroth. Good Knowledge in PLC Programming, Machine Safety, Robot programming. An understanding of software packages used within the manufacturing process, particularly SQL, VBA, would also be advantageous but not essential. Good knowledge Computer and IT Systems. Experience in project management. Good communication skills. Ability to relate to people, to be outgoing and form relationships quickly. Good time management skills required and adherence to schedule are also important as working to tight time scales may be required at times.
The main purpose of this role is to assist in the development, production and documentation of control systems within an increasingly automated manufacturing environment. We are looking for a highly skilled technical professional who will combine their knowledge of Automation and Electrical Engineering principles to maintain, develop, troubleshoot and validate these systems.
