HEAD OF CONTRACTING - HV SWITCHGEAR

Educated to at least Level 5 to 6 equivalent in electrical engineering or with significant experience of project management or design roles in the contracting industry.
A recognised safety qualification, e.g. NEBOSH or IOSH. Commercial or fiscal qualification e.g. Finance for non-finance managers.
Management qualification - level 6/7 e.g. MBA.
Strong and visible leadership skills.
Strong understanding of fiscals and project performance.
A customer and business development / sales focus.
Strong project/programme management and delivery skills.
Strong team player.
Excellent knowledge of Construction (design and management) Regulations.
Good knowledge of the Contracting Industry, both electrical and mechanical.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong IT literacy - MS Office.
Good commercial awareness.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Ability to use Office Project.
Auto CAD experience.
Good knowledge of the electricity distribution industry particularly connections and the appropriate industry standards G81, G59, G83 etc.).
Generation connection design.
Understanding of civil, fabrication and mechanical design aspects.
Management and Leadership of a highly effective Contracting Business, covering Design, Delivery and Construction activity within the Mechanical, Electrical and ICP areas of the Contracting profit centre. Budgetary and Profit and Loss responsibility, and a mandate to work collaboratively and effectively with other parts of the business.
Demonstrating first class Commercial, Safety, Health, Quality, Environmental, Customer Service and People Leadership for the Contracting profit centre, ensuring that words and actions are fully aligned and the Contracting Business operates in line with the business ethos and values.
Effectively communicate and embed the business strategy and objectives throughout the Contracting team.
Lead, develop and manage through the Contracting Management Team, Internal and External Design, Delivery Managers, Designers, Project Managers, Field Engineers and Support Staff across the Contracting profit centre.
Ensure a sales focused business, with key market and sales targets and initiatives to deliver or better the business plan.
Embed and enhance the business values and focus on working collaboratively.
Embed the company's management system and work in partnership with Business Services to enhance and improve business processes on an on-going basis.
