TEST & MAINTENANCE ENGINEER - HIGHWAYS
To ensure that the Company’s products and systems are tested and operating correctly. To test, install, commission and maintain Site Installations to Company requirements and to ensure that all faults are attended to and repaired within contractual times.
Ability to command respect of colleagues and clients; Effective communicator; Good People Skills; Ability to plan own work efficiently; Ability to work as part of a Team; Attention to detail; Flexible approach to hours of work; PC Literate with knowledge of Word and Excel packages; Good geographical knowledge of UK Road Network; Logical approach to problem solving; Organised Memory; At ease both on Site and in Office environment; Full Clean Driving Licence; Mechanical Assembly/Electrical/Electronics/IT Background an advantage; Minimum 2 Years Roadside Working Knowledge & Experience Required; /CSCS/IPAF Card Holders an advantage;
Assistance to the Project Manager(s) with day to day issues: Technical assistance to Contract Enquires; Attendance at Site for operational requirements. Day to Day Production: Mechanical and Electrical Testing of signs to ensure that Production Schedules are on time; Mechanical and Electrical build and wiring of Prototypes; Efficient Day to Day Company Contract Obligations including: Site Installation, Testing and Commissioning; Fault Attendance and Repair; Routine Maintenance; Identification of Preventative Action; Investigate and cure Repetitive Faults; Supervision of sub-contractors performing new installation works; Submission on time of all Company Documentation requirements. Method Statements and Risk Assessments: Adherence to Individual Site and/or Task Method Statements and Risk Assessments. Contribute to wider Department and Company Issues including: Ideas of ways to improve processes; Identification of Cost Saving; Assistance to the Company Production Facility as and when required. Working away from Home and Standby: Job role will involve some working way from home; Company vehicle will be provided. Job role will involve some un-social working hours including at night and occasional weekends.
