SERVICE AND APPLICATIONS SUPPORT ENGINEER - DRIVES
To optimise system performance, obtain customers acceptance and fore fill customer training requirements. Support internal departments typically the sales teams, sales offices' and technical department.
Profile & Experience: Technical knowledge & experience of ac motors, servo motors, encoders, resolvers, inverters and PLC/ motion control, operator panels, safety solutions and associated components. Ability to use software diagnostic tools and understanding of motion control systems. Working knowledge of field bus networks & Ethernet solutions advantageous. Self motivated with initiative, tenacity & determination to resolve technical problems. Field service and system commissioning experience. Knowledge & experience of safe working practices on all ranges of automated machinery, including hoists and lifting type applications. Ability to work alone and under pressure whilst managing customer presence/ expectation. Constructive customer facing communication. Understanding of best practices and the commercial pressure's customers are under. Training & presentation experience advantageous. Collaborative attitude to colleagues.
Educational Requirements: Electrical / Electronic Diploma level education preferred or recognised apprenticeship.
Field Support: Responding to customer technical support enquiries (telephone technical support) providing advice & information. Provide onsite diagnosis & rectify electrical/electronic faults. Optimisation of system performance through setup and/or program as applicable. Commissioning new systems, upgrades or replacements. Resolving any issues arising during commissioning and obtain customers acceptance. Provide training, operational or technical as required. Collaboration with colleagues on a national & international level. Completion of administrative paperwork for invoicing and accountability.
