PROCESS / PROPOSALS ENGINEER - OIL & GAS
A UK based engineering company specialising primarily in equipment for Produced Water Treatment (PWT) and Water Injection Systems for the International Oil & Gas Industries. The company has several proprietary state of the art products, and its key services include: a. Design, Manufacture and Supply critical process internals b. Design and supply of complete skid mounted water treatment packaged equipment. c. Process Design Support for fabrication companies and systems integrators d. Design Consultancy for Operators, Contractors and Consultants e. Site based services including Audits, Troubleshooting and Commissioning f. Supply of bespoke packaged process equipment The company operates globally.
The position of Proposals Process Engineer is a key role in the development of the business. The Proposals Process Engineer reports to the Proposals Manager. The position is primarily focused on support of the Sales activities of the business, but from time to time may be involved in all aspects of the company business. Therefore the employee is expected to be versatile and pro-active. The Proposals Process Engineer will have a general engineering knowledge of all relevant disciplines, and is expected to act professionally and in the best interests of the company at all times. The position is based in South Gloucestershire, but involves a significant amount of travel both within the UK and overseas. Travel will be required at short notice and outside of normal working hours. Extended trips away from the head office, either nationally or internationally, and lasting longer than 2 weeks may occasionally be required.
Work with the sales, marketing and proposals team to prepare technical and commercial proposals, including: - Detailed review of enquiry specifications to identify all key parameters for the design of the equipment and equipment packages - Equipment Sizing and Design - Package Design, including preparation of overall process and control philosophies and creating P&IDs, PFDS and HMBs. - Costing of equipment, including negotiation with clients and suppliers - Document preparation and submission. - Attend client meetings worldwide, either as part of a team or alone. - Present technical proposals. - Give presentations to clients and present technical papers at appropriate conferences - Developing and maintaining a detailed understanding of all the company's process systems and technologies. - Establish and maintain good relationships with key customers, to achieve repeat orders and ensure clients are satisfied with the company's performance From time to time and in accordance with the engineer's capability and experience there may be a requirement to support other aspects of the business. Assist in carrying out engineering studies, including: Reviewing client documentation, conceptual and detailed process design, development of PFD and P&ID's, technical and economic evaluation of design options, preparing study reports, preparing and delivering engineering presentations. Process Design of Produced Water Treatment and Water Injection System equipment, including:- Preparation of Vessel Process Data sheets, specification and design of critical vessel internals, preparation and review of pump and instrument process data sheets, preparation of key documents, for example cause and effect charts, operating and control philosophy, P&IDs, O&M manuals. Visit onshore and offshore oilfield production facilities worldwide to carry out a variety of tasks, which may include, but will not be limited to: - Training personnel - Commissioning equipment - Troubleshooting and conducting audits on equipment - Water sampling and analysis - Equipment trials, equipment and process characterisation To successfully fulfil the role, the Proposals Process Engineer will have excellent interpersonal skills, typically hold a degree in Chemical/Process engineering and have more than 3 years of process engineering experience in oilfield separation technologies. The role offers a high level of technical and commercial responsibility The engineer will have a strong technical ability as well as being a practical engineer. The Proposals Engineer may be expected to carry out on-site & offshore work, and the appropriate training and courses will be provided. In-house training will be provided as part of the role.
