MAINTENANCE MANAGER- CHEMICAL MANUFACTURING

An education in engineering
Computer skills: MS-Office, MS-outlook, SAP, Computerised Maintenance Management systems, DCS, Entropy
Good communication skills and teamwork capability.
Minimum of 7 years experience in a factory in the Mineral Oil or Chemical Industry.
Capable of working independently
Ability to cope with pressure and flexibility
Direct line management of: 4 x fitters (including coded welder), 1x E&I Technician,1x Instrument Technician and 1x Maintenance Coordinator.
Delegated responsibility for spending circa £0.5M annual maintenance budget.
Maintenance and minor changes to the plant consisting of two manufacturing units (HDE, PMB), 65 storage tanks, multiple road tanker loading points, annual batch production of 100KMT, site throughput of 140KMT and site utilities, goods inwards by rail and road
Safe management of the maintenance team and contractors performing works on site.
Ensures the mechanical reliability of the plant through planned maintenance as well as emergency repair.
Responsible for legislative compliance on: ATEX, Trip and Alarms (SIS testing), pressure systems (boilers), lifting equipment, ladders, legionella L8, LEV, electrical inspections (including PAT).
Ensure that all maintenance activities conform to the Company's required standard, with particular regard to Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental legislation (organising important site calibrations and filing documentation).
Responsible for the evaluation, development and implement maintenance measures.
Responsible for updating, ongoing development and implementation of the Maintenance elements of the Integrated HSEQ Management System.
Utilise FRONTLINE (CMMS) to manage all aspects of the maintenance operation including: planning activities around production constraints, recording and analysis of breakdown information, scheduled services, analysis and evaluation of maintenance activity and production of statistics (distribution and agreeing work with subordinates).
Support Engineering Projects and Mechanical Inspections (isolation plans, RA / MS commissioning, maintenance requirements of new equipment).Deliver and manage Engineering Projects where required (procurement, commissioning, contract lifts etc...)
Assist the Engineering Manager in the following areas: participate in talks and negotiations with suppliers and service providers. Production of tenders (inviting submission of quotations), performing quotation comparisons (analyses) as well as preparation of ready -to-use externally placed orders (in the area of maintenance as well as projects) in co-operation with Purchasing.
Ensuring acceptance testing of plant or parts of the plant by authorities in consultation or in co-operation with other departments.
Management, motivation, development and checking of subordinate staff.
Provision of an Engineering on-call duty, outside of normal working hours, at weekends and on public holidays.
Manage the purchase of maintenance parts and equipment using the SAP system according to the Authorisation Regulations, including: raising purchase requisitions, goods receipting and checking invoices from suppliers.
Ensure that all documentation relevant to the Maintenance activity is complete and up-to-date at all times.
Keep abreast of innovations in the field of technical regulations (internal/external) and legislation, standardisation etc, that are of economic significance.
Perform a critical role in the Emergency Response Plan.
Responsible for ensuing critical spares for mechanical and electrical equipment are "on the shelf"
Plant production environment, ensuring that plant availability is high in order to maximise operating results, within the parameters of annual budget limits and conducting the Maintenance activities in a safe manner.
Compliant with UK and European Regulations, and Our Standards.
Manage the Maintenance team to achieve safe and effective performance of the plant and product availability while minimising breakdown and costs.
To support HSEQ initiatives ensuring all maintenance activities are consistent with HSEQ policies and relevant legislation.
