Degree/HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering SAP R3 or similar integrated system ILM Certificate in Team Leading or other suitable management training

1. To build and maintain a good working knowledge of corporate guidelines and standards relating to quality, quality management systems, industry standards and codes of practice, hydraulic power unit systems, manifold assemblies and their assembly methods, company products and services, customers and working practices, to perform the role efficiently and effectively. 2.To contribute to the overall business units objectives and plan by: - Utilising knowledge, information and analysis to contribute to the - velopment of the team, department and business unit plan - Sharing information with other to enable them to fulfil their role - Sharing ideas and suggestions for improvements - Analysing what is required to develop and deliver quality control systems and manufacturing targets 3.Through effective leadership, to promote a performance driven, service focussed environment by; - Creating, developing and leading an optimal team that delivers quality management and inspection services to meet the business units objectives and plans - Recruiting staff with well defined roles and the appropriate skills and competencies - Developing, motivating and retaining individuals and promoting team working - Encouraging efficiency and effectiveness by implementing appropriate management and communication systems and processes - Enabling the team to focus on activities that add value - Building relationships with external and internal departments, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders/professional bodies as required 4. To provide a comprehensive proactive and effective management of the quality control system through undertaking the following: - Agreeing relevant individual/personal objectives, targets and success criteria for assigned activities and own area of work such as; - Overseeing and supporting the business to ensure processes are followed in accordance with the quality management system to meet internal and external requirements, including legal compliance and customer expectations - To ensure corporate standards and guidelines relating to quality topics are implemented and maintained - Safeguarding the quality of products and processes together with sales, development, production and purchasing departments as well as our manufacturing plants - Promoting quality achievement and continuous improvement throughout the organisation - Identifying procedural non-conformances and implementing corrective and preventative action. - Monitor and report on key performance indicators to ensure compliance - Organising and leading internal and external audits (i.e. Customer audits, External accreditation bodies, corporate and internal control) , ensuring audit plans are adhered to - Supporting special requests from customers in line with DIN EN 10204/AQAP/IRIS - Supporting claim management by applying the 8D process - Liaising with the warranty department to ensure any claims relating to quality issues are investigated and appropriate corrective and preventative actions carried out - Introducing and overseeing Q-tools (8D, FMEA and Quality plans) - Indentifying relevant quality related training needs and working with relevant internal depts to ensure delivery - Overseeing activities and providing guidance to the local Quality Assurance Manager and Inspection team - Producing and developing business information reports to support quality department controls and performance improvements in line with company standards and business unit reporting requirements - Agreeing job requirements and competencies, participating in relevant training and development and asking for support as required. - Monitoring and sharing own progress and addressing any changes, taking corrective action as required. - Communicating regularly with other members of the team, department and business to ensure rapid two-way flow of information and contribution to effective team working. 4. To manage and develop each employee to enable them to maximise their contribution to the business plan and superior customer service by: - Communicating the plan and setting and agreeing challenging, relevant individual objectives, targets and success criteria in conjunction with employees. - Agreeing job requirements and competencies with each employee and their training and development needs, through the provision of performance reviews, coaching and appropriate support. - Reviewing individuals' targets using consistent measurement, and taking corrective action as required. 5. To take overall responsibility for resources, manpower planning, targets and cost control by: - Contributing to the development of an accurate, comprehensive, fair/realistic, and challenging budget. - Ensuring agreement, implementation and compliance with plan/budget/targets through monitoring progress and addressing any variances. - Contributing to the development of resource allocations, manpower planning and production forecasts. - Ensuring quality standards and customer requirements are met. 6. To ensure the efficient and effective utilisation of financial and physical resources by: - Maximising the use of resources and identifying and eliminating waste. - Contributing to the setting of systems, policies, procedures and work standards ensuring that they fit and/or enhance with others used in the business. - Balancing cost/risk vs. benefit when specifying or recommending any changes. - Conducting vendor analysis of internal and external suppliers providing accurate information of supplier performance and back charging. - Conducting root cause analysis of non-conformances that have led to back charging.

Basic up to £35K depending on experience.
