PLANT ENGINEER- CHEMICAL MANUFACTURING

Day to day management of contractors. Capable of managing and coordinating site capital investment of approx £1.5m pa (whilst maintaining normal duties) to CDM regulations. Development and co-ordination of site inspection regimes (mechanical and electrical). Good problem solving skills working within a team environment or alone.
Ensures that company HSEQ policies/programs are fully respected within the plant. Ensures that plant mechanical and electrical reliability is high. Responsible for Mechanical inspection routines for tanks, gantries and pipework etc... as per constructed RBI and carries out works. Provides direction, motivation, training and technical support to our team and contractors. Provide technical support to subordinates and contractors, ensuring compliance with standards and legislation. Provides technical support to other departments. Manage all contractors, ensuring quality and an effective maintenance response/service (contracts, RA/MS, HSEQ inductions, company appraisals, scope of works etc...). Ensures that miscellaneous Maintenance support and supply contracts are executed effectively. Ensures effective implementation of mechanical modifications. Manages the preparation and execution of unit shutdowns. Responsible for the Plant Capital Investment program through review of drawings and final project acceptance. Characterises Plant Criticality. Assists and Develops economic justifications for items to be considered and budgeted in the Plant Capital Investment program Provides Technical Backup to Production team (plant understanding, procedures). Ensures Housekeeping Standards are maintained at all times. Releasing Purchase Requisitions and Producing Orders according to the Authorisation Regulation. Goods receipting and checking invoices from suppliers for maintenance according to the authorisation regulation. Able to manage SIS testing, modification and compliance with EN61511. Carries out and supports incident investigations on site. Keep abreast of innovations in the field of Technical Regulations (internal/external) and Legislation, standardisation etc, that are of economic significance. Ensures all site changes under Maintenance and Engineering fully comply with company MOC standards. Ensures RA/MS are correct and detailed for the jobs onsite. Provision of an Engineering on-call duty, outside of normal working hours, at weekends and on public holidays. Organises project HAZOPS and risk assessments. Plant production environment, ensuring that plant availability is high in order to maximise operating results, within the parameters of annual budget limits and conducting the Maintenance activities in a safe manner. Compliant with UK and European Regulations, and our Standards. Organises & manages contractors and projects onsite. Employ sound engineering practices through installation, commissioning, maintenance and development of plant and equipment, all consistent with safety, environmental, quality standards and legislation. To support HSEQ initiatives ensuring all Maintenance activities are consistent with HSEQ policies and relevant legislation
