Our client is a leading manufacturer of bespoke packaged process equipment and systems for the global Oil & Gas and Power Generation industries.

A graduate in an engineering discipline with several years' experience in managing professional engineers. A hands-on leader with a communicative style, a passion for customer service and a natural team-building style. An ability to meet deadlines and excellent problem solving skills. Fluency in Lean manufacturing, DFM principles and well developed 3D CAD skills. Highly developed inter-personal skills, and an ability to communicate at all levels both within the business, and with customers.

Direct management of a team of 10 design engineers, ensuring that the team meets business deliverables including cost, on time delivery, quality and performance. Liaise with other production, supply chain and commercial departments to ensure that overall company objectives are realised. Identify and action training & development needs within the department, ensuring that all team members achieve their full potential, and that the required level of technical skills is maintained. Support the commercial team in front of customers to ensure that customer requirements are fully understood and delivered. Implement and manage procedures to ensure the compliance of engineering output with both internal and external business requirements. Establish a culture of continuous improvement within the department, driving out waste and cost in our design processes and product configuration. Work with production to ensure that DFM principles result in reduced production costs. Contribute extensively to our new Product development programme, from innovation to delivery. As part of the senior management team contribute more widely to the achievement of the company's business objectives.
