Simon Wynne establishes headhunt search firm Wynne Consulting with a clear focus on organic growth.
The company’s initial focus is servicing the Automation sectors.
Simon chooses to employ people with a long-term vision and without previous recruitment experience so he can grow a team with a different approach to headhunt search, building an in depth understanding and expertise of sectors to service.
Chris Birchett joins the business and the company extends its workforce to four, broadening the focus to look at MES & Industrial I.T.
Matthew Foster joins the business and extra office space is taken out for a team of seven staff. The company moves into recruitment of sales professionals within Automation & Control.
The team grows to nine staff, with market sectors serviced now including Switchgear, Power Distribution, Renewable Energy and Instrumentation. The company completes its first board level assignment. Headhunt search fee turnover exceeds £250,000 for the first time.
More new office space is taken out as the company extends the workforce once again, to 11 staff. Core areas now include Oil & Gas, Rotating Machinery and Automated Warehousing (Logistics). The company celebrates the successful placement of its first candidate to earn over £100,000 basic salary.

Team extended to 15 people with consolidation and strengthening of core sectors. First business secured in mainland Europe with £40,000 worth of business in Benelux, Germany & France.
Development of Subsea Oil & Gas sector recruitment service and expertise. Further growth in end user Process Manufacturing in the North West and expansion of European operations.
Team grows to 20 staff, boosted by significant growth in turnover (£700,000). Launch of dedicated industrial I.T. sales & software headhunt search operation.
Consolidation year sees us continue to grow our core business areas, with a major focus on growing key corporate relationships. Growth in all core market areas in UK and mainland Europe, as well as in sales, management and engineering positions. We move into the Contractor market in Q1 2017 supplying high quality people into the Automation, Control & I.T. sectors within our core High Technology & Manufacturing markets.
Record turnover secured by the group, underpinned by growth in all of our core areas. Saw progression in our new “contractor” business supplementing our core activities; and we made significant inroads into the Enterprise Software & Industrial I.T. sector – which were core objectives for 2017. Added 2 additional sector specialists, with a 3rd recruited for Jan 2018 start.
